What is National Placement and Referral Alliance (NPRA)??

NPRA is the trade association for the Senior Placement Industry in the US. Our members are “Agents” who do placements, and “Affiliates”, consisting of Senior Living Providers and other businesses in our echo system. Currently with 12 chapters, and over 20 more in start-up mode, NPRA is setting the standard for how senior placement should be done and provides a stark contrast between the “Expedia-style” internet lead aggregators, and individual local agents who financially qualify their clients, know their territory, have nationally recognized designations and certifications, do proper intakes, have liability insurance and tour with their clients.

NPRA has its own lobbyist and is highly engaged nationwide in legislative matters involving the placement industry, including California’s SB 875, the licensing bill that has passed the state Senate and is currently in the Assembly. NPRA’s chapters provide monthly education for its members and offer the nation’s only Certification for Placement Agents, the CPRS (Certified Placement Referral Specialist) which validates an individual’s knowledge and commitment to their trade.

All members of NPRA pledge to follow NPRA’s Best Practices and Code of Ethics, and are held accountable via a grievance policy, allowing anyone to file a grievance against a NPRA member who has violated the code of ethics or is not following our best practices. The grievance will be investigated locally and, if not resolved, will be sent to a national grievance committee which can remove the person’s certification, membership, or both. The Best Practices, Code of Ethics, and Grievance Policy can all be found at www.NPRAlliance.org

As the current President of NPRA, I’m very proud of the work we do to further the mission of professionalizing and protecting the Senior Placement Industry. Visit our website to learn more about how our senior placement agency protects and advocates for seniors.
