Home Health
Home health provides a wide range of health care services that can be given in the home, usually after an illness or an injury. Services could include, a visiting nurse, physical therapy, occupational therapy or wound care. These services are similar to what you would get in a skilled nursing rehabilitation facility and are usually paid for by your insurance, such as Medicare. While it is usual for home health to be ordered after a surgery or hospital stay, your doctor can order Home Health at any time if it's determined to be beneficial to your health. In Home Care
In Home Care is a private pay option for non-medical in home care. Caregivers from a licensed agency can provide services for activities for daily living such as: dressing, bathing, cooking, cleaning, eating, toileting and more. Palliative Care
To palliate is “to make a disease or its symptoms less severe or unpleasant without removing the cause.”
Generally, palliative care is provided within the context of serious illness: cancer, chronic, progressive pulmonary disorders; renal disease; chronic heart failure; HIV/AIDS; progressive neurological conditions. Palliative Care supports a patient’s physical, emotional and psychosocial needs, providing comfort and improving quality of life.
Hospice Care
Hospice Care is for those who have less than 6 months to live. Hospice services are available to patients of any age, religion, race, or illness. Hospice care is covered under Medicare, Medicaid, most private insurance plans, HMOs, and other managed care organizations. A hospice team (nurses, doctors, social workers, clergy) visit the patient where they are residing and collaborate together to control pain and relief.
